KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BALL 5K

The 2008 Keep Your Eye On The Ball 5K run for men was a fantastic success and saw over 250 men getting active in the fight against male cancer on on Sunday 1st June 2008 in Victoria Park, London. A massive thank you goes out to all those men that took part.

We're hoping the event will raise over £40,000 this year for Everyman's vital male cancer  research.

In line with the football theme of the event, participants were given the opportunity to run on behalf of their chosen football club and similar to The FA Cup, the smaller clubs took on the big Premiership teams in the race to see who was fastest over 5K.

With over 40 clubs represented on the day there was some serious rivalry out on the field.

In true underdog style the fastest average 5K was secured by the Stoke City Team who achieved a time of 19 minutes and 09 secs.

The inidividual runners put up a great performance as well and as far as we're concered everyone running on the day was a true winner! However, our 1st place runner (Robin Tuddenham) came in at an outstanding new course record of 16 minutes 46 seconds.

He was closely followed by last year's winner, Merghani Salih in 17 mins 27 secs and Will Jones in 17 mins 35 secs.

Also taking part was Neil Harris, Millwall striker and Everyman Patron, who secured his own personal course record with a time of 18 mins 59 secs. Neil was joined on the course by his Millwall teamates Paul Robinson, Chris Hackett and Danny Spiller to take on Matt Duke and David Livermore of Hull City in the 5K battle.

The next battle is now on to see who will become this year's Top Fundraiser and win 3 tickets to see England vs Czech Republic at Wembley on 20th August. The tickets will be awarded to the person that submits the most sponsorship from the event by 1st July 2008.
